A big thank you to Russell for all his help. Only thing wrong but nothing to do with the booking - my flight to Sydney, just over 3.5 hours had no inflight entertainment due to them using an aircraft usually used for domestic routes

Overall it was excellent. On the two occasions that we did need to make contact, the response was immediate and helpful. There were issues over parking at some hotels about which advance information would have been useful. i.e. In Wellington only valet parking was available at $45 per day and in Queenstown there was no hotel parking available and street parking was difficult to secure close by.

We missed our connection between Auckland and Nelson. It was no problem, we were just put on the next flight at no extra cost, but it did cause a bit of worry at the time. For your reference, 2 hours is not enough for transfer in Auckland to a domestic flight. Collecting bags, going through customs and a good 20 minutes walk between terminals requires 3+ hours.

Just to let you know about the car rental rules for NZ, you are not able to take them on a ferry between the North and South Islands. You have to arrange separate rentals.
