Travel Talk

6 July 2022

All change

With such great news about Covid testing requirements being lifted for the USA, South Africa, and most recently Australia - things are changing fast and it's keeping us on our toes. We’re of course delighted to see the world return to normal and for those face to face meetings and events to be back on the agenda again.

This month we’re partnering with American Airlines to share their latest news as well as giving you the chance to win one of three pairs of Nimax Theatre tickets.

Going Green

The hot topic on everyone's lips at the moment - especially with the 48th G7 summit taking place recently - is of course, climate change and sustainability.

All airlines are making great efforts to improve these areas, but American Airlines have developed brand new technology which will help to reduce wasted fuel, especially around airports - by reducing taxi time – it also helps to reduce delays which is music to everyone’s ears.

Changing the weather

No one wants a bumpy ride or the inconvenience of cancelled flights due to bad weather, but we can't change the weather so what can we do? Ever heard of HEAT? American Airlines storm avoidance technology.

By using Artificial Intelligence to collect various types of data it allows the adjustment, rather than the cancellation of many flights to be introduced, which makes life a lot easier for its passengers.

Keep it moving

Sitting for extended periods of time especially on long haul flights, as we all know, is not great for our health. We are advised to get up and stretch our legs, but Is that really enough?

American Airlines don’t think it is so they have teamed up with Obé fitness to introduce ten free ‘in your seat’ travel workouts into their inflight entertainment programme. There are different exercises to suit different travel archetypes such as the sunrise and red eye traveller.

It's showtime!
