This family-friendly 19th-century castle is set on a tree-lined curve on the River Ile, just 5km from Strasbourg and 6km from the airport. Traditional architecture is on display through Chateau de l’Ile, with its beautiful balconies and half-timbered style, making it a calm spot for both business and leisure travellers. It is also easily accessible to sights such as the Alsatian Museum and the Museum of Chocolate Secrets.
Spa
There’s no spot more serene than that of the spa at Chateau de l’Ile, nestled within a lush green park. Choose from a range of massages, including Thai and Californian, treat yourself to a facial, or soothe your skin in the sauna or Turkish bath. Take a dip in the Jacuzzi or have a relaxing, invigorating swim in the indoor pool.
Room Description
All 62 of the charming rooms and suites at Chateau de l’Ile are regally decorated in smart colours and offer an array of amenities and views over the village or river. Five categories of accommodation are located in either the oldest or more typically Alsatian part of the castle, and feature free WiFi, mini bars and digital TVs, as well as hairdryers and safes. Children under 12 can stay for free using an extra bed.
Activities
As well as providing easy access for exploring the culture of Strasbourg, Chateau de l’Ile is also only 30km from The Vosges Nature Reserve, with its numerous walks and animal reserves. On the hotel grounds, the Accrobranche Centre provides exciting tree-climbing adventure routes for every level of skill – adults and children alike. And, after a day of activities, the indoor swimming pool offers the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
Dining
Chateau de l’Ile is home to two tempting restaurants. Winstub de l'Ile is a charming Alsace brasserie with traditional welcoming decor, a decorated ceiling and tinted windows, and serves delicious regional dishes created from market produce. Meanwhile, Gourmet de l'Ile serves fine cuisine in a beautiful dining room opening out onto a terrace and the banks of the river.
